Our first snorkeling experience during our week in Curaçao was at Tugboat Beach and it was one of our favorites.
There is a dirt road that leads from Playa Caracasbaai to the Tugboat Beach parking area in an industrial area. The next photograph shows one of the views from the Tugboat Beach parking area.
Snorkeling Report calls Tugboat Beach "the most popular snorkeling spot in Curaçao" and TropicalSnorkeling.com calls Tugboat Beach "the most well-known snorkel spot on Curacao."
The beach is very rocky, but you go to Tugboat Beach for the snorkeling.
There were divers at the sunken tugboat.
Even more interesting was the large number of fish of different species in the area of the sunken tugboat.
The tugboat itself is also highly interesting to view while snorkeling.
The photographs of the sunken tugboat were repeatedly photo-bombed by the fish!
Although the sunken tugboat and fish around it are the highlight of snorkeling at Tugboat Beach, there is other decent snorkeling along the rocks.
The snorkeling at Tugboat Beach met the lofty expectations we had built up in our minds after reading about it.
