We stopped briefly in Sint Willibrordus on our way from Willemstad to see the national parks on the northside of Curaçao.
Our first stop in the Sint Willibrordus area was at the relatively well-known Saliña di Jan Kok.
Although we could not see the flamingos here as clearly as we saw those at the Curaçao Sea Aquarium, it was interesting to see the flamingos in the wild.
The parking is along the shoulders of the road and there is a boardwalk to an observation area.
Flamingos are not the only aquatic birds of interest at Saliña di Jan Kok.
Seeing the flamingos in gorgeous natural habitat is a different perspective and we were closer to these than we were to the flamingos in Paracas (Peru).
The whimsical Williwood Sign is very close to the flamingos sanctuary, so we made a quick stop at it as well.
According to Atlas Obscura, this sign was created to bring attention to the town.
We spent less than an hour in Sint Willibrordus (Williwood) viewing the flamingos and Williwood sign, but there are other things to do in the area (see also "10 Amazing Things To Do In Williwood").
