One of the "extra" experiences we reserved at Curaçao Sea Aquarium during our week in Curaçao was the Animal Encounters experience.
Feeding nurse and lemon sharks was advertised as a highlight of this experience, but snorkeling with "Scratchy" the large stingray was a highlight for us.
There were numerous other fish in the lagoon with us as we snorkeled.
Feeding the nurse sharks was also very interesting and new to us.
Scratchy the stingray would try to sneak in to take the fish we were feeding the sharks and Scratchy got the fish once or twice.
Other fish swarmed around us while we fed the sharks.
We next fed the lemon sharks. We needed to keep our hands to the side of the fish we were feeding them instead of behind it because of the power of their suction.
Snorkeling alongside the tarpon helped us to see how large they really are (we knew they were big from our experience feeding them at Robbie's of Islamorada).
After feeding the sharks and snorkeling with Scratchy and all those fish, we got out of the water for a short tour of some of the other animals living in that area.
We thought the Animal Encounters "special" was a really good deal for the money; it was $99 USD per couple (or $65 for individual) and that included admission to the rest of the Curaçao Sea Aquarium.
