We spent the first week of 2022 in Curaçao and stuffed as much as we could into that week, but still were not able to see and experience everything that Curaçao has to offer.
This post summarizes some of the sites and activities on Curaçao that we had identified as potentially interesting, but ran out of time to experience.
Missed Willemstad Attractions
There were several attractions we wanted to see in Willemstad, but ran out of time before we could see them. One reason for this is that many of these close in the early afternoon and so were closed before we could return from other island activities such as the plethora of beaches. Operational hours are shown for several of these missed attractions and were correct per their respective web sites at time of this writing, but should be checked before visiting any of the attractions.
- Plasa Bieuw (Old Market)
- Bario Urban Street Food
- Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue
- Monday through Friday: 9 am to 4:30 pm
- Museum Kurá Hulanda
- Closed by 4 pm Monday through Saturday and closed by 2 pm on Sunday.
- Curaçao Maritime Museum
- Limited hours of 10:30 am through 3:30 pm on Tuesday through Thursday or any day a cruise ship is in port.
- Jewish Cultural Historical Museum
- Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4:30 pm
- Curaçao Museum (Museo di Kòrsou)
- Tuesday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm
- Fort Amsterdam
- This is very visible in Punda near Queen Emma Bridge and we did walk in its courtyard.
- Operating hours are very limited
- Cathedral of Thorns
- Landhuis Bloemhof
- Renaissance Mall & Rif Fort
- A mall and shopping just don't compete with snorkeling and other activities on Curaçao.
- Curacao Liqueur Distillery at Landhuis Chobolobo
- This was of low interest to our group, but is listed on many sites' lists of things to do in Curaçao.
Missed Snorkeling Spots and Beaches
Although we experienced multiple beaches and snorkeling spots in Curaçao, we could not experience all of them in just one week! Here are some we wanted to visit, but ran out of time before we could.
- Blue Room Cave
- We did travel to Playa Santa Cruz in an attempt to ride to the Blue Room with Captain Goodlife's 3 pm tour, but when he returned at 3:30 pm from the earlier 1 pm tour he told us the waves were too rough to allow safe entry into the Blue Room.
- We also attempted to schedule a snorkeling tour that includes the Blue Room with Go West Diving, but it was never scheduled due to insufficient number of paying participants.
- It is possible to hike to the Blue Room, but there are some caveats to consider (potential theft of any items left on the shore, physical challenge of climbing back onto the rocky shore, etc).

- Playa Forti (Sweet Alice)
- Playa Jeremi
- Playa Piscado (Playa Grandi)
- Kokomo Beach (Vaersenbaai)
- Mambo Beach (Seaquarium Beach)
- Blue Bay Beach (Blauwbaai)
- Playa Manzalina
- Playa Parasasa
- Playa Kalki
- Playa Largu
Even this list of beaches and snorkeling spots we missed coupled with the beaches and snorkeling spots we did experience don't cover all the beaches and snorkeling spots that Curaçao offers.

- Aloe Vera Farm Curaçao
- Curaçao Rif Mangrove Park
- Savonet Museum at Christoffel National Park
- We did visit this national park, but we did not have time to visit the museum while there.
