We went to or drove by Playa Caracasbaai multiple times during our week in Curaçao because it's close to Tugboat Beach and Directors Bay and because it is the home of the waterside restaurant Brisa do Mar.)
This beach was very popular with local residents on a weekend evening and many of them brought grills and were grilling their dinners.
It's easy to see why it's a popular beach with the sand, protected/calm water, freely available tables and palapas, free admission, and lots of parking.
There is also a nice view of Fort Beekenburg and the industrial ship next to Tugboat Beach.
The tasty odors coming from all the grilling being done on the beach motivated us to try dinner at the Brisa do Mar (Pop's Place) restaurant on the beach.
The seating at Brisa do Mar provides a nice view of Playa Caracasbaai.
Watching the sunset from the restaurant's outdoor seating was a great experience.
We enjoyed the food and sunset so much at Brisa do Mar that we returned there for another dinner to experience them again. Neither the food nor the sunset disappointed on our return!
We enjoyed the food at Brisa do Mar and especially enjoyed trying some things we had never eaten before.
The bitterballen and double-Gouda cheese balls were tasty appetizers.
It was interesting to try the stewed goat (Kabritu Stobá).
They also served a stewed chicken.
