One of the tour stops during our two weeks in Greece was at Greece's oldest winery.
The Achaia Clauss Winery was opened in 1861.
Behind the front door is a beautiful courtyard area.
The main shop and tasting area is charming.
Although we don't drink wine, we found the winery tool to be interesting.
There are several areas where there are exhibits that include actual artifacts related to creating wine and the barrels in which to store the wine.
We saw some really, really old barrels with wine from hundreds of years ago.
Many had names of prominent and wealthy individuals on the barrels.
After the tour, we enjoyed the view of Patras (third largest city in Greece) from the shop's back porch.
Other great views were provided from the courtyard walls.
There was a lot of interesting vegetation in and around the courtyard.
Although it was November 1, the weather was fantastic and our surroundings were beautiful.
We enjoyed our visit to and tour of Achaia Clauss Winery.
