The last activity we participated in our day at the South Rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park was to hike the Warner Point Nature Trail.
The trailhead for Warner Point Nature Trail is at the large High Point Trail parking lot. There is a nice view from this parking lot.
Although the end of this trail features dramatic views of the Black Canyon, much of the trail features the "other side" with Bostwick Park and the Uncompahgre Valley.
The Warner Point Nature Trail starts by descending and then ascends again at the canyon overview.
This means, of course, that the return also starts with a descent and ends with an ascent.
Warner Point Nature Trail's end (where you turn around to head back) offers different perspective of the Black Canyon.
Besides the canyon on one side and the valley on the other side, there are other interesting things to see on this hike.
There are numbered markers all along the Warner Point Nature Trail and these mark locations identified in "A Walking Guide for Warner Point Nature Trail."
