We had spotted a potentially good snorkleling spot at Toucari Beach while eating dinner at Keepin' It Real.
We decided to give it a try and are glad we did because it turned out to be a fantastic snorkeling location that is easily accessible from the shore.
We had parked our rented Honda Crossroads at the south end of the beach and walked across the short beach to the point at which we entered the water.
The visibility is outstanding, particularly for off-shore snorkeling.
There's a large rock that can be seen from above the surface of the water and this provided an incedible location to watch fish and other marine life while still relatively close to the shore and within the protected Toucari Bay water.
This rock and coral that can be seen from above the surface is near the north end of the bay and here are some photographs taken from that area in the bay.
This long fish (I think it's a trumpetfish) did not want to be observed.
We decided to go closer to the south end of the beach (near the pier and where we parked) to snorkel there.
Toucari Beach provided us with a beautiful sunset dinner location at Keepin' It Real earlier during our time in Dominica and then provided us with a highly memorable, easy, and free snorkeling experience! We had the bay entirely to ourselves except a lone fisherman who took his small boat out to fish.
